Donald MacArthur – Well Engineering Manager
Donald has an engineering degree from The University of Strathclyde and studied Subsea Engineering at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. He joined the Santa Fe graduate engineering programme and now has 18 years Oil and Gas experience. During his development, Donald worked in numerous locations and operations around the world including Semis / Platforms in the Central North Sea and land operations in Oman. On his return to the UK he worked both on and offshore on the Low Head and Underbalanced Drilling (UBD) projects running in the Southern North Sea. After a period as Operations Engineer for a Jack-up campaign he crossed over into the Drilling Contractor side of Santa Fe, working as a Night Toolpusher in the Dutch sector. He joined Fraser Offshore in 2004 as a founder member and has performed various roles within the company from Senior Drilling Engineer, Project Superintendent through to his current position as Well Engineering Manager.
Nick Ford – Business Development Manager
Nick has 19 years in the Oil and Gas Industry, starting out as a graduate engineer in the Santa Fe Well Engineering training scheme holding various positions offshore on platform rigs, semi submersibles and jack ups. He then moved onshore to Great Yarmouth supporting Santa Fe’s SNS operations for Shell holding several positions of increasing seniority. Nick moved to Houston to take up the position of Business Development Manager for South America and the Caribbean contracting a variety of rigs into the region from land rigs in Venezuela to drillships and semis offshore Trinidad. Nick then moved into the position of Well Engineering Manager responsible for the utilisation and optimisation of GlobalSantaFe’s deepwater fleet. Laterly he took on the role of Deepwater Operations Manager responsible for the operational aspects of the construction of an ultra-deepwater semi-submersible. He then returned to the UK and joined Fraser Offshore as Project Superintendent for RWE on their Breagh Alpha development campaign before taking up his most recent role as Business Development Manager. Nick is a member of the Decommissioning Special Interest Group.
Jonathan Speed-Andrews – Project Manager
Jonathan has 15 years in the Oil and Gas Industry, initially starting with the graduate engineering programme of Santa Fe Drilling, latterly Applied Drilling Technology International (ADTI), before joining BG Group as staff Drilling Supervisor on an HPHT exploration programme in the Central North Sea. After joining Fraser Offshore in 2006 he has held various positions in the company from Drilling Supervisor through to Project Superintendent. He has worked on a variety of projects around the UKCS both onshore and offshore and has extensive experience with land rigs through to semi submersibles. Jonathan plays an active part in supporting the Fraser Well Management graduate engineering programme mentoring several of the junior engineers.
Paul Collins – Commercial Manager
Paul is a law graduate with over five years oil and gas industry experience. Joining Fraser Offshore in 2010 Paul worked in contractual, business development and finance functions to develop his oil and gas knowledge. With a masters in oil and gas law (LLM) Paul has in-depth knowledge of oil and gas contracting, commercial law, dispute resolution, energy policy, environmental aspects of oil and gas operations and the UK regulatory framework. As well as office based responsibilities he has also worked offshore as a drilling materials controller, developing a knowledge of the offshore environment and getting hands-on with equipment.
