Drilling Engineering Training Scheme
The Fraser Well Management Drilling Engineering Training Scheme provides graduate engineers with a tailored programme aimed at forming the complete well engineer obtaining both office and wellsite experience. At FWM your first posting will be as a member of the drill crew, gaining valuable hands-on experience at the well site before being assigned to one of many ongoing projects both on and offshore.
Our Drilling Engineering Training Scheme (DETS) combines classroom training with a structured programme of work, including entry level drill crew experience and individual mentoring by experienced well engineers. Delivered over a 5 year period, DETS training revolves around real-life work assignments. You can be sure of early responsibility, strong support and fulfilling work alongside people who are experts in their field.
The DETS Programme is both demanding and rewarding. Individuals completing this scheme will have embarked on a well paid career in a growth industry with worldwide opportunities.
What We Look For
Demand for our training is high and we select candidates with care. You will need to have achieved or be expected to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree in an engineering discipline; preferably mechanical or mining engineering. We look for strong technical and team working skills, self-reliance and a willingness to travel and work at the wellsite. Often we ask for more; masters level study, prior exposure to life in the oil/gas industry, evidence of personal achievement.
All applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English, with a permit to work in the UK if non EU resident.
